You’ll Melt More! Rises From the Flames at Shimo-Kitazawa Shangri-La!

You’ll Melt More! turned the page on the final chapter of their You’ll Melt More! Tour 2025 “Phoenix Fire Drum Mandala Pilgrimage” with a spirited 18-song performance at Shimo-Kitazawa Shangri-La on March 30, 2025. It was a fiery conclusion to the first tour for the group since the addition of new members Raki and Makoto nearly a year earlier.

Taking the stage to “You'lltro” accompanied by waving penlights and chanting voices, You’ll Melt More! began the festivities with “Nigero!!” From there, the tempo picked up as the members clawed the air and swayed to the relentless drumbeats and swirling synths of “Aruku no Osoi Inu.”  The temperature continued to rise as the bubbly melodies of “Momomomomomo! Yoyoyoyoyoyo!” swept over the fans pumping their light sticks above their heads. Percussive shamisen and shakuhachi notes mixed with taiko rhythms as You’ll Melt More! closed out the first set of songs with “Nin Nin.”

Returning to the stage in their lustrous new outfits, You’ll Melt More! fired up the crowd with a red-hot performance of their new song “Phoenix Fire Drum” followed up by “Tabi no Shitaku” and “Tenjiku,” two of the group’s older deep cuts. The energy started to build as heads banged, and hands clapped to “You to Piazza.” Whipping the floor into a frenzy with “Our Venture Adventure,” the members of You’ll Melt More! stopped to talk about their new outfits and merchandise, which included handheld drums before launching into another new song “Zen Koutei Kyousoukyoku.”

The floor shuddered as the fans waved their pen lights and danced along during “Korogare!!” and threw their hands in the air to “Psychedelic Wasshoi” as the temperature continued to rise. Guitar feedback and crashing cymbals followed by a wave of screams filled the air as You’ll Melt More! threw open the floodgates and unleashed “Only You.” With emotions running high and sweat glistening, they closed out the set with paper fans fluttering to “OO (Love).”

Answering the encore calls, You’ll Melt More! returned to the stage energetically with “Yoi Yoi” before changing up the mood with the sentimental “Watashi no Hanashi, Korede Oshimai.” The festivities ended with the final song of the night, “The Golden Life.”

You’ll Melt More! has continued to evolve during their nearly 13-year long journey through the Japanese music scene, having performed dozens of songs spanning multiple genres with a colorful cast of members. Just like the phoenix named in the title of their tour and song, for You’ll Melt More! the cycle of immortality never ends.
