Misa Talks Cosplay, Idol Life, and Her Dream of World Peace

Bonjour! I'm Misa, an idol and cosplayer!

I absolutely love French croissants, and when I visit France, I eat them every single day!

Please tell me your favorite bakery, but be warned, I might know more about them than you do! (laughs)

I have an otaku friend who invited me to try cosplay, so I gave it a shot!
The character I chose was Akira from the BL game Togainu no Chi.
I wonder if anyone still knows this game… (laughs)

Actually, I tend to cosplay male characters more often than female ones!

Cosplayers in Europe are on such a high level! Their costumes and wigs are amazing! You can really feel how much they truly love the characters and enjoy cosplaying from the heart. I hope to keep cosplaying in many more countries in the future!

Guess what? One of my dreams just came true!
As a cosplayer, I’ve had the amazing opportunity to perform on big stages in many different countries. But I realized something, it wouldn’t be right to keep this incredible experience all to myself. So I made a decision: I want to give more Japanese people the chance to stand on the world stage.
That’s why I organized an audition and partnered with Japan Expo. The winner of the audition earned a spot to perform on stage and I heard they were so happy, they cried.

From now on, I’ll continue working to build bridges between Japan and the world.

Model walking was really challenging, but it was such an amazing experience!
I absolutely love French fashion and cosmetics, so I was super excited to be part of it.

Since I also do K-pop idol makeup shows at conventions in Europe, it was really interesting to see the differences between European and Korean makeup styles.
I learned a lot, and I think I can apply this new knowledge to future shows!

To be honest, I never set out to become an international model, idol, or cosplay dancer. The truth is, I’ve been the CEO of my own company for over 10 years—I started it back when I was a university student.

The reason I chose to pursue entertainment activities worldwide was for a specific purpose: world peace. My dream and life mission is to connect Japan with the rest of the world.

Japanese people don’t often travel abroad, even though they hold the most powerful passport in the world. That’s such a missed opportunity. I want to show them just how amazing the world truly is.

At the same time, many people overseas love Japan, but often say they need a guide to fully enjoy it. So I take on that role and introduce them to the country I love.
I want them to fall even more in love with Japan.

One day, I hope to launch a Japan-themed tour business for international fans—focused on otaku culture. I also plan to open booths at overseas conventions, where we’ll feature ninja cafés, maid cafés, and Japanese snacks.

As a result of my activities, such as organizing cosplay auditions—and through my social media presence, more and more people are telling me, “I want to go global too,” and that makes me so happy.

This isn’t about self-promotion. It’s about working toward world peace.
If people can come together and find happiness through dance, music, cosplay, and culture, then that’s the greatest reward.

I still can’t believe it myself!
I was incredibly lucky to receive this opportunity through a recommendation from my vocal training teacher.

But I think what really made a difference was being honest. I told them, just like I mentioned before, “I’m not aiming to become an idol—I’m aiming for world peace.”
I thought being so direct might make people dislike me, but it turns out that honesty made me seem trustworthy. And thanks to that, they introduced me to someone truly amazing.

I want to visit every country in Europe as an idol! People say my autograph sessions and how I interact with fans are “god-tier,” so I want to make even more people become my fans.

Whether on stage or off, I want to connect with everyone as much as possible!

I believe the biggest difference between Europe and Japan is the culture of freely enjoying life. In Europe, people don’t compare themselves to others or limit themselves based on age or gender. Instead, they choose their own way to express their beauty and live their lives. I really love that.

When I’m in Europe, I feel truly free and relaxed.
I want to share this cultural mindset with Japanese people, hoping more will embrace living authentically as themselves.

Yes, my true identity is that of a business owner. My first venture was a concept café (which is now closed). I’m thinking about bringing that idea overseas and creating convention-exclusive cafés. As for producing idols, I’m open to it if there are people interested!
At one point, I managed a team of 50 part-time staff, so producing is definitely one of my strengths.

I want to make everyone at Japan Expo happy, so I’m going to challenge myself by singing the French version of the anime song “Dragon Ball Z”!
French pronunciation is tough, but I’ll do my best! Please sing along and help me out!
