Misa, the Idol Bridging Japan and the World
Japan Expo 2025 Summary
Entrepreneur, cosplayer, idol, model… Misa is a multi-talented artist driven by one goal: to connect Japan with the rest of the world, more specifically through otaku culture. She wants to build cultural bridges, bring people together, and spread a bit of happiness through Japanese pop culture, as she told us in our last interview. And Japan Expo is the perfect place for that.
On-site, we witnessed her incredible dedication firsthand. Her drive to do things right, her efforts to speak English, and her overwhelming passion for connecting with others make her instantly endearing at every opportunity. We also have to mention her idol outfit, which was both cute and elegant.
Misa shared her talents with visitors through several standout activities.
First, a cosplay show she designed and hosted herself, accompanied by a troupe of Japanese cosplayers she personally selected. Together, in costumes, they delivered a sharp performance blending dance and stage acting.
Then, a solo performance in which Misa sang various anime theme songs, easily recognizable by the general public, creating an instant connection between her and the audience. Special mention goes to her rendition (in French!) of the French Dragon Ball opening theme, which she performed at every idol show.
In our conversations, she emphasized how challenging the French pronunciation was and how many hours she spent practicing to make it as accurate as possible. This heartfelt effort did not go unnoticed and was warmly received by the French audience, further boosting her popularity.
She even had the opportunity to perform that same song alongside Brigitte Lecordier, the iconic French voice of young Goku and Gohan (as shown in this post). Adorable!
To top it all off, Misa also took time to connect personally with fans during signing sessions.
I started out as just a visitor but now I’m here as an idol and cosplayer!
With these words, Misa closed her final performance on Japan Expo’s biggest stage, the Ichigo stage.
She now intends to continue traveling the world, spreading positive energy, and sharing Japanese culture wherever she goes. We thank her for her dedication and we truly hope to see her back in Europe soon, driven by that same infectious passion.
Thanks to Japan Expo for the opportunity and for welcoming Misa.
